Beta USA's Max Gerston has been racing the AMA West Hare Scrambles series as a warm up to the EnduroX season and after last weekend's second place finish in Milford, California, he now leads the points after five rounds. Gerston has been campaigning the series aboard his Beta 390 RR.
Max Gerston Comments:
"Honey Lake Hare Scramble had a rough track compete with cool running creaks and rocky service roads connected with virgin single track. I was able to get into second place early and set a solid pace. I put in a charge the last 3 laps but couldn't catch the leader. Another solid podium is great, but I want a win!"

Out in the East, The Beta GNCC squad had a full team racing for the weekend at round five held in Society Hill, South Carolina. XC1 Ace Jordan Ashburn had an eventful day finishing in 6th at the checkers. Ashburn was running third on lap two however a stick went through the front of his helmet causing a large gash in his head. After stopping to have a quick look, he decided to push on to salvage a decent finish.
Jordan Ashburn comments:
"I had a good start the the race being in the top 5 when I reached the woods. From there I battled through the tough dusty conditions slid into 3rd place. I managed to catch a stick in my in between my helmet and goggles and cut my head open. I stopped to have them check it out to make sure I was good go and charged on. I struggled the last couple laps and finished 6th overall."

Beta's XC2 contender Nick Davis was running in fifth until he ran out of gas on lap six. The team had pushed the fuel consumption calculation a little too close and the bike stopped about one mile out from the pits, Davis pushed his bike to the pits, gassed up and salvaged a 15th place finish.
Nick Davis comments:
"I Got off to another great start was third heading into the woods. I rode the first lap tight I am still trying to get back into race pace and had a tip over. That dropped me to 7th but I started charging and worked my way back up to fourth when we made a miss judgement and I ran out off gas. I am bummed however the whole team and I are working so hard and I can't thank them enough. Looking forward to Indiana!"

Beta's factory EnduroX racer Morgan Tanke competed in her first ever GNCC. The young racer hails from Riverside, California and found the conditions of the race to be very different than what she is used to. She soldiered on to finish in 7th in the WXC class.
Morgan Tanke comments:
"Those GNCC racers really know how to ride! My first race out East was not easy. My Xtrainer lighted up quick and got me a great start, I was feeling good until we got into the trees. Being from Southern California I was way out of my element and was struggling! Arm pump got the best of me for a bit but as the race went on I started to get comfortable and shook it off. I got in a groove and was able to pick up the pace near the end. It was a huge learning curve and now I know what I need to work on to put in a better result for the team! I can't thank Beta USA enough for giving me the opportunity to come out and try a new form of racing!"
