2017 Beta Updates

2017 Beta RR & RR-S Updates

Beta USA presents its new 2017 Offroad and Offroad Street Legal range
After a greatly successful 2016 season in both sales and racing, Beta returns in 2017 with their Enduro range that continues the forward progress of the brand through refinements in features and quality. The 2016 season has seen Beta achieve their first-ever overall victory in the World Enduro Championship in Portugal with racer Steve Holcombe along with many other victories from Johnny Aubert and Alex Salvini, both at the World and National level. Beta USA continues to push the racing scene with their factory team effort in National Enduro, GNCC, EnduroX, Hare & Hound, as well as National Trial.

Beta takes the information they have learned from their race teams as well as information from the everyday casual rider and combined the two to further enhance the riding experience. The 2017 RR models continue to offer an “easy to ride” philosophy while also providing the rider with a stable and distinct design along with the quality one expects from the brand.

The 2017 models, available in 2 stroke 250 and 300 cc and 350/390/430/500 cc. for 4 stroke, are a direct evolution of the 2016 version and retain their most successful features. The amazing 300 Xtrainer returns as well for 2017 with an updated graphics package.

Two of the most exciting changes for 2017:
1) Beta has combined the features of the 2016 RR and RS models to create the all new RR-S which are all 50-state street legal and will now fill the segment of “Street Legal Off Road”

2) The all new model for the USA is the 125 RR-S. A play bike that is fully capable on or off the road.
125 RR-S:

This all new model offers the play rider many benefits including light weight and just the right amount of power in a chassis that handle like a real motorcycle should. Many of the play bike on the market are either not legal for the street and/or have suspension that should be left for the street only. The 125 RR-S is a full featured model just like its big brothers and is destined to instill confidence in riders of all levels.

The 125 RR-S is street legal in all 50 states and has the following features:
• Liquid cooled 4 stroke engine: the engine is manufactured in Italy and offers electric start and a six speed transmission
• Low Seat Height: At 35.5”, vertically-challenged riders will appreciate touching the ground.
• Locking gas cap & seat: both the gas cap and seat lock while using the same key.
• Wheels & swingarm: constructed of aluminum to reduce weight and enhance the look.
• Fan Kit: Cooling fan kit included to help keep engine temps cool on hot days.
250/300 RR and 350/390/430/500 RR-S Chassis:
A number of features have been tweaked on all the models of the range and some of them come directly from experience at top competitive levels. The chassis, with the well-tested chrome-moly steel frame with double split cradle has the following new features:
• Sachs fork: increased 5mm in length to provide longer travel. Liqui Moly fork oil has been installed to reduce heat build up and friction in the fork.
• Sachs rear shock: new high/low speed adjustment system, now more accurate and independent from each other. This allows the rider to make more fine adjustments based on his or her riding style and needs.
• Triple clamps: new design that is lighter and offers more rigidity.
• Silver rims with black spokes: supplied by Excel, these new wheels are lighter and give the new bike a distinctive look.
• Digital meter: (RR 2 strokes) new design, along with the timer, kilometre/mph indicator with more adjustment features including instant speed, average and maximum speeds as well as the ability to adjust mileage in smaller increments. Also new for 2017 is a built in battery voltage reading.
• Voyager GPS: (RR-S) models arrive with the Trial Tech Voyager GPS meter
• New fuel cap: has built-in breather valve
• New graphics

250/300 RR Engine:
A fine development was carried out also on the engines, which also thanks to the contribution of the Beta Factory Team riders – Steve Holcombe and Johnny Aubert for 2 stroke and Alex Salvini for 4 stroke – have led to the introduction of important new features.
For the 250 and 300 2 stroke, introduced in 2016, the automatic oil injection system continues: as well as ensuring a perfect fuel-oil mix under any condition, it eliminates the trouble of having to premix the oil and fuel and eliminating the need to carry oil with you in the event of a fuel top up.

Dual map ignition - two settings that can be changed from a switch on the handlebar that allow the rider to choose between wet or dry map settings.
350/390/430/500 RR-S Engine
Electronic Fuel Injection continues on all 4 stroke models including 350, 390, 430 and 500. Thanks to its great reliability, easy control and outstanding throttle response, it has generated great positive

feedback from end users. The system continues to be refined by the Beta team of engineers along with Synerject. The 42mm throttle body provides the optimum performance without the “hard hit” most current EFI off road motorcycles suffer from.

Camshafts – the new lift profiles radically change the core of 4 stroke engines, making them even easier to ride, while retaining their top performance.

Valve springs – which, combined with the camshafts, are used to considerably improve performance of the engine at the bottom end of the power delivery and also reducing the engine braking.

Dual map ignition - two settings that can be changed from a switch on the handlebar that allow the rider to choose between wet or dry map settings.

2017 EVO

The evolution continues

Beta presents the new 2017 Evo Trial model range, which represents a continued evolvement from the 2016 model, affirming its position as market leader in the industry, thereby repeating history for the Tuscan manufacturer.

The engineers of the Tuscan manufacturer have carried out intensive development to the entire range and refined the Evo models from a technical and functional perspective that are more powerful, intuitive and yet still fun to ride. Highlighting the 2017 line up is no doubt the now-famous Evo engine, which for 2017 is available in 125/200/250/300 2 stroke and 250/300 4 stroke.

Even more big news is the introduction of the all-new 2-stroke Evo 300 SS, where “SS” stands for “Super Smooth”, this new Trial model offers amateur riders a softer power delivery and while equally fun as the standard 300 model, it has been designed for those intimidated by the more powerful 300 models available. The Evo 300 SS is sure to grab the attention of riders across all continents.

ENGINE

Evo 2 Stroke

The engines remain the pride of the Evo model range, being easy to ride and offering amazing dependability as their two most distinctive features. Beta’s team of engineers continue to add many upgrades over last year’s model including:

Common features in 125/250/300 2 stroke engines

  • New crankshaft seals: greatly reduce friction between the crankshaft and the oil seal.
  • New ignition coil: The increased output from the new coil reduces emissions while also provides more stable carburetion which in turn improves throttle response thereby making it easier to ride and control the motorcycle.
  • New control unit (CDI): This new dual spark system also improves carburetion while significantly improving the balance of the fuel delivery, which results in more linear power delivery while also providing more bottom end power.
  • New voltage regulator: increases power output to the cooling fan allowing the engine to operate at a lower temperature.
  • Improved curve of the spark advance. To further enhance the engine’s power delivery.
  • New spark plug with iridium central electrode to improve performance.

125 cc.

  • New generator (stator): even the ¼ liter benefits from the 12-pin generator with specific inertia. This allows for greater electric power available for the ignition and lighting systems, better engine throttle response in all RPM ranges, greater cooling fan efficiency at low rpm, improved handling thanks to the centralization of the flywheel and better cooling capacity.
  • New crankshaft: increased stroke from 54 mm to 54.5mm, resulting in increased displacement.
  • New crankshaft: low-friction bearings which allow the engine to be more free and increase responsiveness.
  • New silencer: the internals are totally revised with new packing that improves top end performance and power delivery in the lower and mid ranges all while reducing the exhaust noise.

250 cc.

  • New exhaust and transfer ports: the new position of the cylinder ports allows for better engine operation throughout the power range.
  • New combustion chamber: modified squish band and angle to make the engine more pleasant yet still retaining the proper power delivery throughout. This in junction with the large flywheel improves the overall balance of the bike.
  • New silencer: increased sound-absorbing cylindrical mesh section and new felts with high sound-reduction value. The engine is quieter and more pleasant to ride.

300 cc.

  • New cylinder: the sealing area has been revised to improve the tightness of the seal and increase durability.

Evo 300 SS 2T (Super Smooth)

All New model for 2017 that provides a smoother and softer power delivery compared to the standard 2017 Evo 300. This new package was designed to provide an easy, intuitive engine but still efficient when the rider requires it to be. The “SS” version acquires all electronic and mechanical upgrades found in the standard Evo 300 but differs in the following components:

  • New silencer: the internals are totally revised with new packing that improves top end performance and power delivery in the lower and mid ranges all while reducing the exhaust noise.
  • New combustion chamber: with a lower compression ratio and layout dedicated to less competitive use. Allows for super smooth engine response at any rpm, including very slow sections creating an engine that is more precise, manageable and always under control.
  • Flywheel with increased inertia: provides reduced power pulses and smooth power that is pleasant to ride without sacrificing the overall performance.
  • Primary drive with additional inertia: together with the flywheel, it further smooths out the engine power.
  • Long-stroke throttle: completes the package by providing a slower turn to eliminate abrupt throttle blips. This also helps in reducing the amount of clutch that is needed in the sections.

CHASSIS

Updates to the chassis on 125/250/300 2 stroke and 300 4 stroke models are as follows:

  • Updated hydraulic suspension settings: (fork and shock) a continued update straight from the Beta Factory team results in a smoother ride for the common rider.
  • New design of front fork sliders:  to reduce friction
  • New rear brake pump: provides a more powerful yet progressive rear brake feel.
  • New plastic tank cover: which makes the bike appear even more sleek and attractive.
  • New switch: map switch mounted on headlight mask to reduce damage in an impact.
  • New front headlight mask: LED light and housing for the voltage regulator.
  • New graphics.

Prices on all models unchanged from 2016. Price of 300 SS will be reduced $400.00 to match the price of the standard Evo 300.

2017 EVO FACTORY EDITIONS
